LE JARDIN
This medium-sized bar is tucked away in an off-the-beaten-path corner of Lan Kwai Fong. Le Jardin’s seemingly secluded location gives it a feeling of privacy- a factor which adds to the bar’s allure. Once inside the bar, you find yourself in a tented cave-like space with stone walls and lots of plants and flowers. The layout is simple. There’s a big open space with several tables and booths lining the walls. There are also several tables in the middle of the space. One corner houses a fairly large bar.
For some reason, a young banker crowd decided to adopt this place as their regular watering hole. There are often more men than women and weekends can be extremely packed. (Single ladies- hint, hint!) A large contingent of European expats also frequent the place. Le Jardin is a good bar for socializing. The energy flows around the room well and people don’t just stay where they are seated.
Le Jardin opted not to have a DJ. Instead they have one of the best jukeboxes in town! Though old-fashioned, people love picking out their own songs and the jukebox is also a good excuse to talk to someone you don’t really know.
